Iga A. Pawlus

Iga (she/her) is a Polish and English speaking bilingual licensed speech-language pathologist. For nearly a decade, Iga has used her fluency in Polish and expertise in speech-language pathology to provide evaluations for children and youth growing up in Polish-speaking or bilingual households. As a daughter and mother in bilingual homes, Iga understands the challenges of comprehensively evaluating children who speak Polish and English and ensures that all children receive the proper care and attention when performing evaluations. Iga works directly with school districts to provide comprehensive speech-language evaluations ensuring that the appropriate assessments and reports are completed for each child. 

Education:

• Master of Arts in Communication Disorders, Specializing in Speech-Language Pathology (Northern Illinois University)
• Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Science (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign)

Certifications:

• Illinois State License from IDFPR
• Professional Educator License from ISBE
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence

We take the upmost care to ensure each student receives an individualized evaluation to assess their needs and your team receives all information needed to make the best decisions. Our SLPs evaluate all relevant areas of communication, including receptive language, expressive language, language difference vs. disorder, bilingual language development, articulation, articulation differences vs. disorder, fluency, stuttering, voice, oral-motor, AAC, prelinguistic communication, childhood apraxia of speech, social language (pragmatics), and more.
